Understanding the KeyShot 9 License File: Activation, Management, and Troubleshooting

If you have purchased KeyShot 9 (perpetual license) or are maintaining an active subscription, follow these steps:

KeyShot opens but shows "Educational" watermark or reverts to Viewer mode. Cause: You upgraded your PC hardware (specifically your network card or motherboard) after requesting the license. The HOSTID in the file no longer matches your PC. Solution: You must "Return" the license (if you have the original installer) and request a new file from Luxion support. There is no manual hack to change the HOSTID.

: Users with a floating license can "borrow" the license for up to 30 days , allowing them to use KeyShot Pro offline or remotely without a constant server connection.
