A client is trying to activate expensive CAD software but the USB dongle is physically attached to their office PC. The technician cannot activate it remotely via RDP because RDP does not pass through HID-based license keys. The Customer Module v1.9.7 shares the dongle, and the technician’s server sees it as locally attached.
The USB Redirector ecosystem continues to evolve, but version 1.9.7 of the Customer Module represents a "golden build" for IT teams requiring reliability over flashy features. It is lightweight (under 8 MB), requires no reboot in optimal conditions, and plays nicely with Windows 11’s stringent security model (including HVCI).
